COPRA®
MetalBender TD-i certified by Autodesk for Inventor 2011
Valley, Germany – April, 2010
data M Sheet Metal Solutions
GmbH, developer of the COPRA® MetalBender software for the sheet
metal industry, announced today that COPRA® MetalBender TD-i 2011 has
been certified for Autodesk Inventor 2011 software through the Autodesk Inventor
Certified Applications Program. Certified applications have been thoroughly
tested by internal staff at Autodesk and guarantee a high level of quality and
interoperability with Autodesk Inventor software.

Digital
Prototyping with Autodesk Inventor software gives manufacturers the ability to
digitally design, visualize and simulate how a product will work under real
world conditions before it is built, which helps reduce cost and speed time to
market.
COPRA® MetalBender TD-i
2011 offers additional functionality for efficient sheet metal design in
Inventor. All COPRA® MetalBender commands are integrated in the
native Inventor “SheetMetal” area for ease of use.
For Parametric Transitions,
there are basic contours like circle, rectangle and filleted rectangle
available, which can be combined with the required dimensions. Depending on the
defined cut positions, different parts can be obtained, all automatically
positioned in an assembly.

For each single part individual
flat patterns can be created and with the ToPs-Interface the information
of the flat pattern can be exported into the specific ToPs format. Necessary
modifications of the full parametrical model can easily be realized by changing
the dimensions of the defining parameters in a dialog box. The assembly with all
associated parts will be automatically updated to the new dimensions.
The additional TD-i Library
consists of standard parts as used in HVAC applications. For heating,
air-conditioning and ventilation applications, where it is often necessary to
design 3D parts consisting of two different contours, a special SheetMetal
Lofting command is available.
Quote from Mr Jim Quanci, director of Autodesk
Developer Network:
“With the data M software COPRA® MetalBender TD-i, it is very easy to
create multi-part transitions. You don’t have to create complex parametric
sketches aligned to sketchplanes somewhere in space. And the positioning of the
single parts in an assembly is also not required, it’s all done automatically.
Even if dimensions have to be changed, all necessary sketchplanes, sketches and
parts of the transition and existing flat patterns are updated automatically.”
